When using the Relatics template feature, a new workspace can be created based on a template. This subscribed workspace begins with the workspace structure published with the template.
The power user of the template workspace can create new versions of the template containing updates to the workspace structure. After a new version of the template is published, the power user of the subscribed workspace will automatically be informed that a new update of the template is available. They can carry out the update at a moment when it is convenient for the project.
Recognize that a workspace is subscribed to a template
When a workspace is subscribed to a template, the icon of the type graph view changes. The new icon will combine the type graph view icon () with a template icon (
). In addition, in the tooltip of the type graph view, the name of the current template is shown.
Create a workspace based on a template*
- In the overview with workspaces, click on
Environment administration.
- In the view Environment administration, click on the menu
Workspaces.
- Click on
New workspace. This results in a new dialog Create workspace.
- Enter the desired name in the field Name.
- Click Setup and select Based on template.
- Select the desired template.
- Click Create. After this, the details of this workspace will be loaded.
- Grant access to the newly created workspace.
Note:
- A new workspace can only be based on the latest version of a template.
Update a workspace to the next version of the template**
- In the workspace menu, click on
Settings.
- Click on the menu
Template updates.
- Click in the table on Changelog to read what the template creator considered important for you to know about this template version.
- Click in the table on Update to update the workspace to the latest version of the template.
- Click OK, in the confirmation dialog Update workspace.
- Resolve any issues that block the update and retry the update.
Note:
- If a conflict occurs while updating to a new template arising from the project data or specific additions to the workspace, it needs to be resolved manually by the power user.
- If multiple new template versions are available, they must be updated one at a time. Versions of the template cannot be skipped.
