In Relatics, projects are managed using workspaces. There are four ways to create a new workspace.
Empty workspace *
Start with a clean workspace. For example, to support a project with a custom designed SE model that is build from scratch.
- In the overview with workspaces, click on Environment administration.
- In the view Environment administration, click on the menu Workspaces.
- Click on New workspace. This results in a new dialog.
- Enter the desired name in the field Name.
- Click Setup and select Empty workspace.
- Click Create. After this, the details of this workspace will be loaded.
- Grant access to the newly created workspace.
Based on other workspace *
Start the workspace with a copy of the type model, views and roles of an existing workspace. For example, to support a project by reusing (parts of) the SE model of another project.
- In the overview with workspaces, click on Environment administration.
- In the view Environment administration, click on the menu Workspaces.
- Click on New workspace. This results in a new dialog.
- Enter the desired name in the field Name.
- Click Setup and select Based on other workspace.
- Select the desired workspace.
- Click Create. After this, the details of this workspace will be loaded.
- Grant access to the newly created workspace.
Duplicate workspace *
Create a complete copy of an existing workspace. For example, to support a project by both reusing (parts of) the SE model and reusing data of another project.
- In the overview with workspaces, click on Environment administration.
- In the view Environment administration, click on the menu Workspaces.
- Hover on the workspace row you want to clone.
- Click on Duplicate at the end of the row. This results in a new dialog.
- Enter the desired name in the field Name.
- Click Duplicate. After this, the details of this workspace will be loaded.
- Grant access to the newly created workspace.
Upload workspace from RCS file *
Create a workspace based on a complete copy of an exported workspace. For example, to quick start a project based on the model and data of a workspace that originates from another Relatics environment.
Delete a workspace *
After a project is finished and the workspace is no longer needed, the workspace can be deleted.
- In the overview with workspaces, click on Environment administration.
- In the view Environment administration, click on the menu Workspaces.
- Hover on the workspace row you want to delete.
- Click on Delete at the end of the row. This results in a new dialog.
- Check whether the correct workspace name is mentioned in the dialog. If so, click Delete to complete the deletion.
Note:
- The deletion of a workspace cannot be undone. The data is permanently lost.
* In the environment, the administration role of your user must be set to administrator to use this feature.
