A project can have a type element containing elements representing people. These people can be external people or people involved in the project. Specifically, project members also have access to the workspace. Relatics facilitates linking workspace users with the people working on the project. This has various benefits when working with Relatics:
- To-dos can be made for specific users.
- Newly created elements can have a default relation to the current user.
Enable the ability to link users with people*
Firstly, Relatics needs to know which type element contains elements representing project members. Use the following steps to set up the type element in which users may be linked to elements.
- In the workspace menu, click on Settings.
- In the Settings, click on the menu General settings.
- In the table User link settings, click on Edit.
- In the dialog Edit user link settings, for the field Type of elements to link with users (optional), select the type element in which individual people are managed.
Link individual users to corresponding person element*
- In the workspace menu, click on Settings.
- In the Settings, click on the menu Users.
- In the table, hover on the user you want to link and click on Link element.
- In the dialog Link element, select the element you wish to link to the user.
- Click on Update.
Notes:
- To unlink an element follow the same steps, but click on Unlink element.
- Remember to link newly added workspace users to an element.
- When an element is linked to a user, an additional icon () will appear next to the element icon.
* In the workspace, the user type of your user must be set to power user to enable this feature.
