The Population divider widget is one of the widget types that can be added to Dashboards. This widget type divides (a subset of) elements of a specific type into different populations according to its network. For example, the number of open tasks versus paused tasks, or a distribution of requirements across stakeholders.
Visualization
Depending on the setting chosen in the field Divide population by, a population divider widget can visualize the population using a doughnut chart or a bar chart.
Create a population divider widget*
- In the workspace menu, click
to open the dashboards page.
- On the dashboard page, select the dashboard to which you want to add a population divider widget.
- On the dashboard, click
New widget. This opens the Create widget dialog.
- In the field Widget, select Population divider. The dialog will now update and show the fields to be filled out.
- In the field Title, enter a name that describes the visualized data.
- In the field Type element, select the type element on which the population is based. The dialog will now update and show the fields to be filled out.
- Optionally, in the field Filter(s), add as many filters as needed to get the correct population.
- In the field Divide population by, select Property or Relation.
- If Property has been chosen, you will be given the choice of type properties with data type List and Number. Select a type property in the field Property.
- If a property of the data type List has been chosen, select the desired visualization in the field Visualization.
- If a property of the data type Number has been chosen, select Bar in the field Visualization and, in the field Ranges, enter the values that separate the ranges.
- If Relation has been chosen, select a relation in the field Relation.
- In the field Visualization, select Doughnut.
- If Property has been chosen, you will be given the choice of type properties with data type List and Number. Select a type property in the field Property.
- Click on Create. This closes the dialog Create widget.
Note:
- Elements of which the list value is not set and elements with no relation for the dividing relation will be grouped and labeled ‘Empty‘ or ‘None‘.
- Only the nine elements with the highest populations will be shown separately. The remaining elements will be grouped and marked under ‘Other‘.
