Population divider widgets

Population divider widgets

The Population divider widget is one of the widget types that can be added to Dashboards. This widget type divides (a subset of) elements of a specific type into different populations according to its network. For example, the number of open tasks versus paused tasks, or a distribution of requirements across stakeholders.

Visualization

Depending on the setting chosen in the field Divide population by, a population divider widget can visualize the population using a doughnut chart or a bar chart.

Create a population divider widget*

  1. In the workspace menu, click  to open the dashboards page.
  2. On the dashboard page, select the dashboard to which you want to add a population divider widget.
  3. On the dashboard, click New widget. This opens the Create widget dialog.
  4. In the field Widget, select Population divider. The dialog will now update and show the fields to be filled out.
  5. In the field Title, enter a name that describes the visualized data.
  6. In the field Type element, select the type element on which the population is based. The dialog will now update and show the fields to be filled out.
  7. Optionally, in the field Filter(s), add as many filters as needed to get the correct population.
  8. In the field Divide population by, select Property or Relation.
    1. If Property has been chosen, you will be given the choice of type properties with data type List and Number. Select a type property in the field Property.
      1. If a property of the data type List has been chosen, select the desired visualization in the field Visualization.
      2. If a property of the data type Number has been chosen, select Bar in the field Visualization and, in the field Ranges, enter the values that separate the ranges.
    2. If Relation has been chosen, select a relation in the field Relation.
      1. In the field Visualization, select Doughnut.
  9. Click on Create. This closes the dialog Create widget.

Note:

  • Elements of which the list value is not set and elements with no relation for the dividing relation will be grouped and labeled ‘Empty‘ or ‘None‘.
  • Only the nine elements with the highest populations will be shown separately. The remaining elements will be grouped and marked under ‘Other‘.
* In the workspace, the user type of your user must be set to power user to use this feature.
