See what has happened with indicators

Indicators give a feeling for the overall progress in the workspace. An indicator is shown when an element, property, or relation is created or changed. Instead of integrally inspecting the entire workspace every once in a while, indicators help you to focus primarily on recently made changes. When you are finished inspecting what has happened, you can reset the indicators.

Indicators – type list

In the type list, an indicator is shown for a type element that is subject to change. For example, imagine a type element named Object. In this example, when 17 elements are created or updated, an indicator will show the number of changes.

Indicators – overview

On the overview, in the model row, an indicator is shown for a type element that is subject to change. This is similar to the type list. In the example of the type element named Object, where 17 elements are created or updated, an indicator will show the number of changes. When a filter is applied to the overview, the number of visible changed elements is reflected by the indicator . In this example you will see 2 out of 17 changed elements.

Indicators – impact of change

The rows of a table on the overview reflect if the corresponding element is subject to change. In the table below the indicators are explained.

A completely filled indicator informs you that the element was recently created.
A partially filled indicator informs you that for an already existing element one or more properties, inner elements, or relations were updated.

Indicators – recycle bin

The recycle bin shows an indicator when it contains elements that were recently deleted. For example, when two elements were recently deleted, an indicator will show the number of changed elements. Inside the recycle bin, elements that were recently deleted are highlighted with a colored strip at the left of each card.

Indicators – history

In the history view of an element, recent changes are highlighted with a colored strip at the left of each card. The card describes the actual change that was made by a user.

Clear indicators

Once the indicators have guided you through all the recent changes, use Clear indicators to start a ‘clean sheet’. As you are up-to-date, only future changes will be indicated which gives you a clear focus on what happens in the workspace.

  1. Make sure you have inspected all the relevant changes by using the indicators.
  2. In the top bar, click on  Clear indicators.
