Summary of type property settings

For creating and updating a type property, various settings can be configured. Below all the settings of the dialog Type property settings are explained.

General settings for a type property

Setting Data type Explanation
Name Any Enter a name that best represents the SE model object.
Data type Any Select a value:

  • Attachment: To store a file (max file size: 10MB).
  • Date: To store a calendar day.
  • List: A set of composed values to select from.
  • Number: To store a number value.
  • Single line text: To store a simple text (max character amount: 100 char).
  • Text: To store an extended text that can be simply styled (max character amount: 10000 char).
  • URL: To store a link.
Default Date This setting defines the default value the property gets when an element is created.

Select a value:

  • [empty]: The property value stays empty.
  • Current project date: Property value gets the current project date.
 Values List Compose the set of values. A value consists of a text, color, and optional attributes. The color can be changed by clicking the button.

Added attributes (by clicking the button) provide a numerical representation, usable in the formula of a calculated property.

New value List Expands the set of values.
Default List Select a value of the composed set the property gets when an element is created.
Precision Number Select a number representing the level of exactness in a number’s digits.
Configuration Number Select a value:

  • Standard: The value can be set by the user.
  • Calculated: The value is determined by te result of a formula.
Formula Number with calculated configuration The formula used to calculate the property value.

Advanced settings for a type property

 

Setting Explanation
Enable draft state Tick the box to enable draft state. It can be used to signal the maturenes of the value.
Data ownership in Select a value:

  • Relatics: A type property of which the corresponding workspace is the owner.
  • External applications: A type property of which an external application is the owner.

Note:

  • A prerequisite is that the setting Data ownership in of the type element is set to External applications.
Value of property This setting is part of the quality rules.

Select a value:

  • not required: A value given to this property is not required.
  • required: A value for the property is required.
  • required in life cycle: A value for the property is required in the state of the life cycle.
    • A new configuration field is activated where the life cycle states can be selected.
Note The Note field can be used to leave text that is visible to all users in the workspace. This setting can be used to convey additional information.

Permissions settings for a type property

Setting Explanation
[Role name] The role determines if a user with the corresponding role is allowed to edit or create the corresponding type element.
