Last April, CIMdata organized the workshop “European Systems Engineering and Simulation and Analysis” in Bad Homburg, Germany. During this workshop trends, experiences and ideas on Systems Engineering were discussed.
Leo van Ruijven of Croon Elektrotechniek was one of the keynote speakers. In his presentation the development of a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) framework was explained that is based on the ISO 15926 and ISO 15288 standards.
By using this MBSE framework an information system can be configured to support the Systems Engineering processes. This framework has been implemented in major infrastructure projects in the Netherlands using Relatics. During the presentation the added value of Relatics for Model-Based Systems Engineering was shown.
