The Collective is a consultancy and engineering firm specializing in designing and managing the development of complex systems and products using digital models. We link available information and processes together as building blocks and display this graphically. We work for customers in the infrastructure (e.g. locks, bridges, tunnels), rail and water sectors (e.g. drinking water, purification/sewage water systems).
We do this by applying Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) in an engineering environment Sigma, which we developed ourselves in Enterprise Architect. This makes it possible to design and model from different stakeholder perspectives, while this approach also supports management processes such as planning, risks, issues, changes, etc.
The Collective’s developed Sigma Environment provides for all stages of the life cycle and thus supports all of the SE processes according to the ISO15288 standard.
The use of digital models offers new possibilities compared to document based engineering:
- defining traceable, verifiable and dynamic relationships between the mutual, multidisciplinary system elements;
- easy simulation and graphic representation of design impacts on different levels and from different viewpoints;
- MBSE offers a framework for simulations and analysis of system behavior.
